About this seed
Why gardeners choose this variety
Red-and-Yellow Perennial Blanket Flower brings the open daisy form of Gaillardia into a sunny garden. The group has North American roots and is admired for richly coloured flower heads that stand above a low mound of foliage. Red rays tipped in yellow create the bold two-tone pattern associated with blanket flowers.
Leafy clumps send up flowering stems through the warmer season, adding colour to mixed borders, gravel plantings and cutting beds. Choose an open, sunny position with good drainage, and remove spent blooms to keep the flowers prominent. Fine grasses make a light-textured companion to the broad flower heads.
