Planting Season: Sow directly outdoors after the last frost when soil has warmed to at least 65°F (18°C). For earlier blooms, start seeds indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost.

Light Requirement: Full sun. Premium zinnias require at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal flowering.

Seed Prep: No special preparation required. Premium zinnia seeds germinate readily without stratification, scarification, or soaking.

Water Needs: Low to moderate. Keep soil evenly moist during germination and early growth. Once established, water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil surface to dry between waterings. Avoid overhead watering to prevent powdery mildew. Water at the base of the plant.

Planting Depth: ¼–½ inch. Cover seeds lightly with fine soil or compost.

Sowing Method: Direct sow is recommended. Sow seeds in rows or broadcast over prepared soil. For indoor starting, sow seeds in cell trays filled with seed-starting mix and transplant after the last frost when seedlings have 2–3 true leaves.

Plant Spacing: Space plants 8–12 inches apart. For row planting, space rows 12–18 inches apart. Proper spacing promotes good air circulation and reduces fungal issues.

Hardiness Zones: Annual in all zones (USDA zones 2–11).

Additional Tips: Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming and more flower production. Provide good air circulation around plants to prevent powdery mildew. Water at the base in the morning to allow foliage to dry during the day. For larger blooms, pinch back young plants when they reach 6–8 inches tall to promote branching. Premium zinnias are excellent for cut flower arrangements; harvest when flowers are fully open but before pollen appears for the longest vase life.
