Product features
• Easy to grow, suitable for beginner gardeners
• Drought tolerant once established, requiring little supplemental water
• Excellent for cutting gardens, with long stems and long-lasting blooms
• Blooms continuously from summer until fall frost
• Available in shades of pink, white, crimson, and purple
• Attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators
• Self-seeds readily for return growth in mild climates
Sowing: After last frost, directly sow outdoors. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep. Space plants 12–18 inches apart. Full sun required (6+ hours daily).
Soil & Temperature: Prefers well-draining, moderately fertile soil (pH 6.0–7.0). Germinates best at 65–75°F (18–24°C).
Germination Time: 7–14 days.
Watering: Keep soil evenly moist during germination and early growth. Once established, water moderately, allowing top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Overwatering may reduce flowering.
Additional Tips: Taller varieties may benefit from staking. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming.
