Why gardeners choose this variety
Tatsoi is a leafy brassica recognized for a low rosette of rounded, spoon-like leaves. Its place in East Asian vegetable gardening gives it a clear food purpose, while the orderly leaf arrangement can also make a kitchen bed visually appealing. It is a different form from the upright head of napa cabbage.
Grow it for tender leaves and stalks, using an appropriate season and enough space for the rosette to develop. Young leaves can be used in suitable fresh dishes, while larger harvested plants work in cooked greens preparations. The actual selection and conditions determine leaf size and the tendency to bolt.
