About this seed

Why gardeners choose this variety

The impact of a foxglove comes from repetition: many individual flower bells arranged along a tall stem create one strong vertical line. Red-toned flowers make that architecture more emphatic, offering a contrast to rounded shrubs and low, spreading perennials. The plant's familiar garden role is ornamental, despite its historical connection with medicinal research.

Give the developing rosette room and allow the flowering stem to become a focal point when it appears. Seed-grown plants need an appropriate seasonal cycle, so flowering should not be promised immediately after sowing. Place the plant where its bells can be appreciated without inviting harvest. Foxglove leaves, flowers and seeds are poisonous if eaten and are not suitable for home remedies.

The seeds were shipped in small protective package and fairly quickly. I can’t comment on the seeds themselves because they won’t be planted until this Fall. And they won’t get their first bloom for two years. I’m pleased with the purchase and look forward to the first Bloom.

Thanks for your review! Glad the seeds arrived safely. Hope they grow wonderfully when you plant this fall!
