About this seed
Why gardeners choose this variety
Peacock plant turns foliage into the main event. Pale leaf surfaces carry darker markings that recall the pattern of a peacock’s tail, while the coloured undersides add depth when the leaves move. The foliage lifts in the evening and opens again with daylight.
Origins and character
Native to the tropical rainforests of southeastern Brazil, this member of the prayer plant family is adapted to a warm, shaded and humid environment. Its common name is a direct tribute to the decorative pattern of its leaves.
In your home or garden
A bright room with filtered light, a humid conservatory or a carefully tended indoor plant collection can show it at its best. Display it where the leaves can be viewed from above and beside, allowing both surfaces to contribute to the scene.
Seed pack options
Choose from 5 seeds, 20 seeds, 50 seeds. The selected option determines the quantity supplied. Seeds only; pots and live plants are not included.
