Product features
• Fast-growing vine that can reach 10–15 feet in a single season
• Trumpet-shaped flowers open in early morning and close by afternoon
• Ideal for covering trellises, fences, arbors, and unsightly structures
• Heart-shaped leaves provide dense green coverage
• Self-seeds readily for return growth next year
• Attracts hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies
• Available in many colors including bi-color varieties
Sowing: Direct sow after last frost. Seeds have hard coats; nick or soak in warm water for 12–24 hours before planting. Sow ¼–½ inch deep. Space seeds 6–12 inches apart. Full sun.
Soil & Temperature: Prefers moderately fertile, well-draining soil (pH 6.0–7.5). Tolerates poor soil. Germination temperature 65–85°F (18–29°C).
Germination Time: 5–14 days (faster with pre-soaking).
Watering: Keep soil evenly moist until germination and early growth. Once established, water moderately; morning glory tolerates brief dry periods.
Additional Tips: Provide a sturdy support structure. Do not over-fertilize (excess nitrogen reduces flowering). In some regions, morning glory can self-seed aggressively; remove seed pods if unwanted spread is a concern.
