About this seed
Why gardeners choose this variety
Lipstick plants bring together glossy foliage, trailing stems and tubular flowers with a distinctive silhouette. The emerging blooms resemble lipstick rising from a tube, giving this flowering houseplant a memorable name and a playful focal point.
Origins and character
Aeschynanthus belongs to the gesneriad family and is associated with the tropical forests of Asia. Many members grow on trees, a background reflected in their arching stems and preference for airy growing conditions.
In your home or garden
An elevated pot or hanging basket allows the stems to cascade and makes the flowers easy to see. Place the display in a warm room with bright, filtered light, or in a sheltered conservatory. It pairs well with simpler green foliage that gives the unusual blooms visual space.
Seed pack options
Choose from 10 seeds, 40 seeds, 100 seeds. The selected option determines the quantity supplied. Seeds only; pots and live plants are not included.
