About this seed
Why gardeners choose this variety
Goldfish plants combine small, glossy leaves with pouch-like flowers that give the group its playful name. The blossoms sit among arching or trailing stems, creating points of colour above a neat leafy background.
Origins and character
The familiar goldfish name comes from the shape of the flowers. Nematanthus belongs to the gesneriad family, a group that includes many ornamental flowering houseplants, and brings a distinctive floral form to a foliage collection.
In your home or garden
Display a developing plant in a hanging basket, on a raised plant stand or near a bright window with filtered light. The elevated position lets the stems fall naturally and brings the flowers closer to eye level. Warmth and a light, well-drained growing medium suit this sheltered planting scene.
Seed pack options
Choose from 5 seeds, 20 seeds, 50 seeds. The selected option determines the quantity supplied. Seeds only; pots and live plants are not included.
