About this seed
Why gardeners choose this variety
Fan-shaped leaves and a brilliant golden autumn display make ginkgo one of the most recognisable ornamental trees. The foliage has a clean, sculptural outline, while the developing trunk and branches give the tree an enduring presence through the seasons.
Origins and character
Ginkgo belongs to an ancient lineage with a fossil record stretching back to the age of dinosaurs. Often described as a living fossil, it connects a modern garden with a remarkable botanical past. Its distinctive leaves make that history visible in a form unlike most familiar garden trees.
In your home or garden
Choose a spacious garden or a long-term landscape planting where its crown can develop and the autumn colour can be enjoyed. Young trees also offer an absorbing container-growing project before moving to an appropriate permanent setting.
Seed pack options
Choose from 5 seeds, 20 seeds, 50 seeds. The selected option determines the quantity supplied. Seeds only; pots and live plants are not included.
