Planting Season: Direct sow after last frost when soil has warmed to at least 60°F (16°C). Start indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost for earlier blooms.

Light Requirement: Full sun (at least 6–8 hours daily). Flowers open only in bright sunlight.

Plant Height: 6–10 inches (15–25 cm).

Seed Prep: No special preparation required.

Water Needs: Low to moderate. Keep soil evenly moist during germination. Once established, water deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry between waterings.

Planting Depth: ⅛–¼ inch (0.3–0.6 cm).

Sowing Method: Direct sow or start indoors in seed trays. Transplant after last frost.

Plant Spacing: 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) apart. Rows 12 inches (30 cm) apart.

Hardiness Zones: Annual in all zones; tender perennial in USDA zones 9–11.

Additional Tips: Deadhead spent flowers for continuous bloom. Does not tolerate heavy clay or wet soil.
